Vale of Rheidol Railway

Build Wales proudly completed a European-funded project on the Vale of Rheidol Railway in Aberystwyth. This project included constructing a new platform and toilet block that replicated the style of the 1930s. It was entered for a heritage award and we carried out full civils and groundworks. We finished the platform with cut sandstone curbs. The building’s exterior featured a timber frame construction with a cut pagoda roof, bespoke lead dressing, and an authentic clock tower. We used only materials that were authentic to the 1930s, including the nails holding the convex tin in place.

The internal finishes of the project were impressive, featuring hardwood joinery and comprehensive tiling. We completed the project with turn-key efficiency, including original GWR hooks and painting finishes.

In addition to this project in Aberystwyth, Build Wales has also completed building projects in many other locations across Wales. Our team is dedicated to delivering top-quality work and building strong, lasting relationships with our clients.
